WMGJ Magic 1240 AM hit the airwaves for the first time on September 12, 1985. Our 306-foot tower in Gadsden transmits a signal within a 50-mile radial circumference, which reaches parts of eight counties. Completing it's 20th year, WMGJ RADIO has been a source of positive and informative news, information, and commentary for Etowah County. We also have music programming tailored to bring a highlight to your daily routine. We dedicate our format to helping make life in Northeast Alabama a better experience for everyone.  

WMGJ 1240 AM is the only radio station in Northeast Alabama which offers the unique blend of a hit local talk show, the best of Gospel, Rhythm and Blues, Urban Contemporary chart toppers, news and local sports coverage. "Magic" 1240 AM features a format that pleases the tastes of all age groups and demographics. It's PURE EXCITEMENT!!!

Tune in daily 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Listen in Monday through Friday to hear live announcers on the air brought to you from our studio in Gadsden. Floyd L. Donald starts the day at 7:00 a.m. with his call-in show for news and views, "Wake Up Everybody". Marinda Davis-Reaves, your "Radio Angel" plays contemporary and traditional Gospel music between 9 a.m. and 12 noon. Bill Morrow , "your number one blues source" spins current Blues hits and favorite oldies from noon to 4 p.m.. Then , our newest addition to format tops off the day with the classic and contemporary hits of R&B.
