Celebrating 20 Years

WMGJ Magic 1240 AM hit the airwaves for the first time on September 12, 1985. Our 306-foot tower in Gadsden transmits a signal within a 50-mile radial circumference, which reaches parts of eight counties. Completing it's 20th year, WMGJ RADIO has been a source of positive and informative news, information, and commentary for Etowah County. We also have music programming tailored to bring a highlight to your daily routine. We dedicate our format to helping make life in Northeast Alabama a better experience for everyone.

Presenting the Third Annual
DRUG & VIOLENCE-FREE
SUMMER RALLY

Friday May 27th 2005, 5 to 7 p.m.
MORAGNE PARK, GADSDEN

Featuring:
Local Talent, Refreshments, Entertainment, and Motivational Speakers

WMGJ Radio and other sponsors concerned about our community hope to minimize the danger of drugs and violence this summer by:

1) Teaching our children to Say NO to drugs
2) Advocating a respectful and friendly way to communicate with others
3) Letting them know we love them and care about them
WMGJ 1240 AM Radio realizes that summertime is usually the time that children first experiment with drugs, because they have more free time but less parental supervision. Peer pressure is one of our children's greatest challenges.

19th Annual Juneteenth Celebration - Bud Hughley Park on Springfield Ave, East Gadsden

This is WMGJ Radio's 19th year recognizing and celebrating "Juneteenth" as a national day of freedom. We are also celebrating the entire month of June as "Black Music History", and since June 19th is also Father's Day there will be a special tribute to all the fathers and men who continue to take a stand as role models for the children and women in our community.

Events will be from 10AM until sunset and will include live entertainment provided by local, regional and national members of the performing arts covering many forms of expression through music and dance. There will be something for everyone from old-time blues to contemporary R & B, and the best from classic spirituals to the modern gospel hits of today.

This is a free admission for the entire family as there will be plenty to participate in. We will have games, arts and crafts, face painting, light sports and more. Don't worry about what to eat as we will have free food and soft drinks (so please, no alcoholic beverages).

Vendors and local business persons are greatly encouraged to claim booth space as this will be an excellent opportunity to sample your product and services to a large number of people, so contact us for more details.
